HONOLULU — A Honolulu police officer is accused of assaulting two men while on duty.
According to charging documents filed in federal court Wednesday, Officer Vincent Morre punched, kicked and assaulted one of the men with a chair. The documents say Morre punched and kicked another man.
The 37-year-old officer is accused of depriving the men of their civil rights.
Morre wasn’t arrested. The FBI says that in a negotiated agreement, Morre will surrender himself for fingerprinting and processing at his arraignment next week.
The FBI says the attack took place at a Honolulu game room in September.
Honolulu police spokeswoman Michelle Yu says Morre has nine years of service with the department. His police powers were restricted when the investigation began and he remains on desk duty.
Morre’s attorney didn’t immediately return a voicemail message seeking comment.
